“We are just biting off our own nose to spite our face.”

One of the wonderful things about clichés is how funny they can be with the alteration of just one word. Couple that with a resolutely shut mind’s eye, and you get gems like this.

I don’t know where the writer got the “biting,” unless the nose is the dessert once we bite the hand that feeds us….

I’d say more, but I couldn’t make this any better no matter how hard I tried.
